Front bumper compatibility

Howdy Folks. I would like to know if the front frame rails are all the same width on all the XJ's. i saw on rustys that there were specific years one specific bumpers. If the measurements are different from my 85 XJ please let me know im going to make my own bumper, but i'd like to get a new cherokee and be able to transfer my custom made stuff over to a newer model.Thanks Alot ,Jay

I'm not positive but I think all the "frame" rails are the same distance from one another. Normally the difference is the end caps on those bumpers. They're different on the 97+ than they are on yours. I have a Warn front bumper on my 93 that came off of my 91, and I had it on an 87 before that, everything lined up the same. Hope this helps.
