I am looking to get clearance for 32s. I want to stay spring under.

That said: What do you think of getting the RE 3.5" Superflex kit with full add-a leaf and putting it on the MJ. I know the rear will be about an inch lower than advertised for the XJ (is this right) so I was thinking about some Rockkrawler Boomarang shackles which off adjustable lift from 1" to 2". I will do some fender trimming, but I would like to not "hack the fenders all out.

OR

My other thought is to get a 3" kit made for an MJ and use shackles and spacers to get the needed lift for 32s.

Does anyone know if the rustys add a leaf in the 3" MJ kit is an MJ aal or an XJ aal?

xj rear springs are a lot flatter than mj springs. XJs come stock soa where as MJs come stock sua. any stock sua leaf will have more arc in it than a stock soa leaf. so it follows the same rule when lifting. XJ aals will not work in an MJ pack. their still to flat. an mj aal will work in an xj pack... but.. that would be just stupid. and yes, rustys knows this. they wouldnt advertize a lift kit for an mj with rear xj parts. and why dont you want to go spring over? the stock axle side shock mounts dip down to close to the gound. they are a deffanate clearance issue. if you go soa you will have better clearance, 4.5" lift, and dont have to spend any money other than welding new shock mounts on the axle and spring perch mounts (cheap). consiter the 4.5 kit. it has everything you need. nothing is left out. (although i hear that rustys welds arent all that great)

Well i was just curious about Rusty's becaus on the site it only lists add a leafs for the XJ. Skyjacker lists the same part number for the XJ and the MJ.

well then im not exactly sure about how all the aal crap works, but i do know that an xj leaf is flatter than an mj leaf, so you cant mix/match aals between the two

Ok here is the deal. To clear 32's you will need different offset forn wheels or new LCA, to prevent tire rub. The problem with liftiung the rear to clear 32's is pretty easily solved by using full size chevy drop shackles in the rear. The one I use measure 93/4 eye to eye, and with my soa setup, I clear 35's with relative ease, and can fully flex my setup.

My front setup is Long arms with Rusty's 6.5 coils and a few other goodies.
