'96 Classic Seat Swap....

Let me apoligize up front. I know this topic has been covered in several thousand different threads, but I need clarification.

I have a '96 classic that is in need of a seat swap. Research using the search function has turned up some conflicting information. I have seen posts that indicate that the cross member change (that differentiates compatable bolt-in seat bases) occured in either '95 OR '97. As a '96 owner this has me a bit confused. The base in my XJ looks like what is refered to as a 97+ setup but I need to be sure.

'95 was when they reinforced the floor and went to the newer style set up.

Yep, your seats will interchange with any XJ 95-01.

That's great info for me. Just curious if you know if that includes the re4ar seats as far as swapability. My 95 is a base model and I'm finding most all of the interior is going. Esp the plastic parts such as door pulls/handles.

The rear seat can be swapped. The interior door handles and panels are different.
