t/case slip yoke compatibility

i toasted my rear d/shaft last weekend on a rock... darn thing has a crease in it that makes it look like a spiral candy cane now... my 87 is running an aw4 with the 242 t/case.... does this t/case share a common slip yoke with the 231 in my 87 laredo 5spd? bith trucks are D44 rear.... what are the chances i can just swap straight up? a tape measure will answer most of my question but i'm wondering about the slip yoke..

Should match. It's the input shaft that had some 21 spline and some 23 spline.

damn D/shaft is 31" in my trail rig.... parts rig is 32" ......... guess its not a straight swap after all.......
