Has anyone ever rebuilt the front wheel bearings in a '99 xj? I guess they're probably the same all the way down to '97. If anyone has, please share your experience. Thanks.

Im not sure what you mean by rebuild? The XJ uses unit bearings that are "Considered" non-rebuildable!Replacing them is easy, just remove the caliper, remove the axle nut and the the three bolts holding the assembly in.

Yeah, I am referring to the "non-rebuildable" bearings themselves. Is it possible?

those hubs are non rebuildable.

I would write a nice letter to chrysler, cussing them out :D J/K

but be ready to fork some $ out. cuz they gonna run deep.

or you can get them from a bone yard, bad thing is theirs no garantee on them.

"Possible" ? Yes
"Feesibile"? No.

Replace them and move on.

I know they can be found cheaper, but I bought Timken brand at Autozone for $130 each. So far so good.

The least expensive hub assemblies I've found, are from Tapco International. Their online store only lists up to 1997, so I'd give 'em a call.
But they are $79/each.
