front shaft lengths????

is there a difference in the length of the front drive shafts in the automatic and manual transmissions in the 4x4's???? i need to know because i have a manual and bought one with the cardan and it is too long by about 3" at full compression whitch translates to around 4" for driveability.

Yes they are different; the manual is about 17 3/4 weld to weld which is the one I need with an auto and a front D44.
