This is probably a dumb question, but I want to start upgrading from my 3.5 superflex kit. Am I going to have to upgrade the control arms as well or are they the same length for all of there kits?

I am doing the same thing exactly 3.5" super flex w/ 2" shackles and spacers, I bought RE dropbrackets, your control arm angle will be harsh w/out them. You could prob be able to get away with keeping non-adjustable lower control arms, but will prob need udj upper arms. Let me know how it goes and I will do the same.

A while back I lifted my XJ up to 6" I used RE adj upper and lower arms. There was a very fine line between alligned correctly and vibrations from the front pinion angle. It took me a long time to get it right. Just today i installed the RE drop brackets and braces. Pinion angle is same as driveshaft. The control arms are now horizontal like they should be. The front axle moved forward a few inches and the ride is unbelievable! I never thought I would notice that much. It is a much smoother ride with the geometry at the correct angles. I guess my advice would be to get the adjustables from the get go. At 3.5 you probably do not need the DB's yet but witht the adjustables you will be able to fine tune the allignment giving you a much better ride. And if you ever go bigger which everyone usually does, you wont need new control arms. Depending on how high you go depends on the leingth of the control arms. It will only change about an inch but that inch is crutial. Check out this link for control arm leinght for different lift heights.

How exact is the chart you linked to, as I'm going through the same kind of scenario. If I have a lower control arm with a corrective bend in it, how would I measure the length?

The chart is not exact. Basically you want your pinion pointed towards the output on the t-case. I run RE adjustable LCAs and Nth Mobility UCAs and love it. I will be putting on drop brackets this winter to get it to a real good quality. Aside from that you have Long Arms.
EDIT-Oh yeah to measure go from center of the bolts/bolt holes (depends if you have them mounted or not). that is how to measure.

Correct, it is not exact for every vehicle but it gets you pretty darn close for starters. Measurements are from bolt hole to bolt hole.
