i have a '91 xj with idiot lite cluster....i'v located a wrecked '93 with a gauge cluster. can they be switched? and how easy is it??

I did it on my 87 it was way easy. I don’t know but I think both those years are the cable speedo and as long as both the donor and the recipient are the same speedo set up, you are golden. There is a bit of a trick to getting the speedo cable off but its not hard. Its plug and play man. Let me know if you need more specifics.

Neither the 91 nor the 93 use the speedo cable. They are both electronic, so you are good to go. Take 2 plugs off the back of the old when ya pop it out and plug em into the new one when ya put it in. Easy as pie.

Remember to change the sending units.They are different for guages and lights.

Works great Jay, did it to my 93'. changed out just the oil preasure and coolant sensor. The coolant sensor is on top of the intake manifold, right under the MAP sensor. Took me a little while to find it.

when you change the coolant sensor....make sure the motor is cooled off...

yep they are interchangeable, but yes as stated above, change the sending units and your ready to wheel!:D
