electrical problems

ok im going to try to make this short

98 xj has electrical problems before i would turn the lights on and the rear windsheild would start going. also the when i turned the lights on the dash rpms and speedomiter droped to zero. the door electric locks dont work.

so today i trun it on and even with lights off the rear wind sheld wiper goes the dash doesnt work at all. now when the jeep is off the rear windsheild defrost switch's light stays on and the rear windsheld wiper moter clicks but the wiper doesnt move.

does any one have any idea what to do or where to start

id like to add the jeep runs fine it just seems to be electrical messed up

on my 86, we cleaned the fuse box in the firewall, where it meets the firewall, see if it has gunk in it. worked for me

thanks man ill look at that any othe suggestions what if its a wire not grounded

Check that and the fusable links from the battery. If that doesn't do it, post back here and I will break out the schematics and see what makes sense.
