There are numerous junkyard "U Pull It" type of places, I've found one in Southwestern PA, and complete axles are only $14.00. Has anyone had experience with these places?

You sure that's a complete axle, not an axle shaft from a 88 accord or something? U-Pull-It yards are a Jeeper's best friend around here, but axles are still $70 on half off days! If it does turn out to be true, I'll take a HP front 60, shipped to 95827 and I'll double what you paid!

You talking about the one down south of Mt. Pleasant, somewhere around Dunbar? I can't remember the name of it, but I've been there (used to live in Greensburg). Decent place as I remember it. Make sure it's a complete axle they're talking about, not a bare housing, or axle shaft. The U-pulls down here I go to charge $89.95 with a $25 core for ANY axle, front or rear. They sometimes have a 1/2 price day, but they haven't done that in the last 3 years :(

If that yard is the one I'm thinking about, they have a website, and you can print off a price list (just gotta remember the name of it LOL)

I know Sechrist out by Linden Hall has really good deals. It is located between Dawson and Layton. Small world. I grew up in that place. All my family live in Dunbar.

you cant take in compressors or air tools.
i took a wheel barrel of hand tools w/me.

they tried to charge me $3 for the axle cause 2 axles and housing.
but i argued with the guy and got it for a $1.
