YJ D35 3.07 Trac-lok to XJ 3.55 D35?

Okay I think I already know the answer to this qeustion but a buddy has a Factory trac-loc from a YJ with 3.07 gears and he wants to swap the ring gear onto the trac-lok carrier from the D35 YJ into his 3.55 gear XJ. I know the break for the D35 Xj is 3.55 so I assume that the ring gear will not fit the YJ 3.07 Trac-lok Carrier?

the break point is 3.73 and up (numerically higher). 3.55 and down.

The 3.55 will fit the same case as the 3.07

He will have to set backlash and bearing preload
