Not sure how your barpin looks but you might have to round the edge you're trying to install a bit. Then use sockets and a vise and press the pin in. Oh and one more thing: lubrication reduces friction :D

Yup, round the edges, wd-40, get it started in the hole by hand, and swing the shock like a BFH.
Done.

Well, it pays the bills.

I prefer setting the shock end on a stout socket, then using a dead blow to pound the bar pin into the bushing.

Or upgrade the sale to include BPEs. :D

Not much better than the mental capacity of an installer. :D

Nope, did four of them this weekend, took less than 20 seconds, each shock.

* Get some lithium grease and spray it inside the rubber on the shock end.
* Clamp the BAR PIN on one end tab securely into a vice, so the bar pin is sticking up.
* Place the shock down onto the bar pin and check to see that, even though it's not "in" all the way, you are not pinching the rubber with the end and the bar pin is started inside the rubber boot.
* Now, the easy part. Grab the shock eye with your left hand and push (not too hard) on the eye to encourage it to slide down on the bar pin. With your right hand, rotate the shock back and forth, right and left and little tilt up and down while applying alittle pressure with your left hand down onto the eye.

It will slide easily and pop in in mere seconds! I was amazed how this technique works, as I spent way to much time wrestling with these bar pins on an earlier Jeep experience. (Hours!)

The directions I've laid out make it seem WAY more difficult than it actually is. 20 seconds per shock. Hope it saves someone an hour. :)

Your's sounds more difficult than it needs to be.
It's not rocket science.
