Can someone give me a link to some writeups for building a rear bumper? I saw some stuff on here a little while ago, but I've been searching and can't find it now. Thanks.

www.google.com is a good starting point. or use the almighty search button.

Yeah, see I was asking if someone could help me since I have already been searching. Don't bother posting something that doesnt benefit anyone.

If anyone else can give me a link, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Responses like this one are part of the reason the noobs see a bit of hostility. If you actually have been searching already, I'd have to question your computing skills. It took all of 7 seconds to get this: http://www.naxja.org/forum/search.php?searchid=645845

Eh, be easy on the guy. So he didn't find anything he though was useful while searching and decided to ask. Maybe some people haven't posted up their builds. At least this isn't one of those questions I've seen every other day up here. And Timber, you don't need question his computer skills. He's not trying to build a computer, he's trying to get ideas for building a bumper. I actually looked through some of those links on that search you gave him and I didn't find much of anything useful. Most were for front bumpers or pre-built bumpers from companies. They just need to invent one of those easy buttons like they have in the Staples commercials.

K2fender, here's one I've been working on for mine, but I have yet to finish it because I seem to run out of time between work and classes a lot. But maybe you can get some ideas from it.

You're right--I actually used front instead of rear. Here you go: http://www.naxja.org/forum/search.php?searchid=645881 And maybe I was being a bit harsh with the "computing skills" comment; however, the ability to find information using a computer seems to have dwindled down to asking someone else where to find it. Trust me on that one--I'm a former English teacher and present librarian.
EDIT: In lieu of being difficult, here you go (just a few):

I don't have a step by step writeup but if you want to PM or email me I'd be happy to give you some basics, ideas for design, materials, construction... otherwise just post up some of the features you're wanting and I'll respond here.

Thanks, If anyone else has any more links that would be great too. I'm just trying to get as many ideas together as I can, before i decide and get started.

I am just finishing up mine!!

It was pretty easy. I cut the factory bracketry to accept the tube where I wanted it and welded it on. T hen I went back and added the receiver tube and re enforced that with some angle iron back to the "frame". I decided to get fancy and weld the tube shut and taper the ends as you can see.

Good luck with the project! Post up with pics when you are done!!!
