Front driveshaft help

Recently got a 90 Laredo for cheap with a busted transfer case. Replaced the case (242) and when installing the front driveshaft realized the yoke at the front end was egg shaped and the shaft itself was bound up. I had a hard time finding the case since most had the 231. Know the same problem with the front DS. I did find a 87 Wagoneer with a 242 case but not sure if they are interchangable. I plan on lifting it 3" soon. Was thinking about a rough country lift since it's only $235 and the 3" wouldn't require to many modifications just yet. Does anyone know any alternate routes about the DS (reasonable budget in mind).

I'm a little scepticle using a used shaft since I think that the shaft is what may have caused the case to go in the first place
