Hey ya'll Eastern Ohio/PA XJers - I'm in Steubenville, Ohio - about 20 minutes South of Wellsville. I've hooked up with a few Jeepers on this site and just curious to see if there's anyone else who'd be interested in joining us? We go out about twice a month, usually Sundays for 3-4 hours. Local trails near my home are a good start, we can always hit Wellsville if we find someone who can be our guide... I'm not too familiar yet. Shoot me an email - barillms@hotmail.com

I'd love to go sometime, but being in Toledo (and having a little one AND a pregnant wife), I'd have to plan quite a bit in advance. I think it takes about four hours to get down that way.

Sweet! I have two others already that I've wheeled with. One local here near Steubenville, one from Wheeling. You two guys make FIVE! Our Jeeps aren't outragous rock crawlers... they're trail Jeeps. Mine is an '85 2.5L with 32x9.50 TSLs, open diffs with plenty of body damage, no doors and lots of squeaks. Other guys have an '88 & '96 - 34 LTBs, 32BFGs open diffs too. We go prepared, no winches but all recovery stuff. Usually Sunday around 10am about 4 hour trail rides. I have access to tons of land near my house, I have 4 or 5 different routes planned out depending on who I'm with and how ugly of a mood I'm in... it's plenty fun, challenging but not "dangerous". Mud, trees, ruts and rocks! 32s and taller mud terrains and tow hooks are a must. If you want to hit some different stuff, shoot me an email! I'll lead the way!
Thanks, -Marc B. My email is: barillms@hotmail.com

Im in Ashatbula Ohio (in between cleveland and erie). There are lots of lifted jeeps but no one really is that friendly and no one has a legal place to wheel...

I'm only on 235/75/15s with no lift, so I'm probably out, huh?

Yea, your rockers/back bumper wouldn't exist anymore. I took a guy with 30 MTs two weeks ago and his 2001 wasn't too pretty when we got home. Seriously though, it's not that hard. I just hate when guys get dented up on their daily drivers.

I just put on some homemade sliders--can jack each side entirely up and two buddies and I hopped up and down on each side--no problem, and if my wife doesn't care about some damage (she has said before that she doesn't) I don't really either. Now if you're talking a caved-in hatch or blown-out windows, I'm not up for that. You're right, though. I should probably just wait until the Jeep's ready. I've got to track down an annoying front-end clunk anyway.

Yep Yep, Stock run at Wellsville on November 5th. But is open to anyone who wants to wheel and hasn't been to Wellsville enough to know the trails! The trails we will be on, there will be very little body damage to the stock Jeep, unless you want to follow me on some of the option trails, then is a possiblity!
Check out these 2 links for updates on this events, i'll try to update here also, but I might forget as this is posted on about 5 other boards!

Also if you guys do start getting together every month, I'd be interested and would be happy to lead a group around Wellsville if you would like to head out here!!

I would like to make the stock run but with The Funland this weekend, and the trail cleanup on the 12th. I'm regearing my buddies front axle the 5th so he can make it on the 12th. We already regeared the front. Another casualty of the D35. Took off about 7-10 teeth off of his ring gear. Oh yea, its a stock XJ too.

3.55 Gears up front, 3.73 in the rear. I dont think his T-Case will like that. Soon as the front is regeared it will be out there again. Instead of regearing we should of just done a HP44, 9in swap.

I did the Halloweenie Jeepinohio.com trail ride last weekend at Wellsville. It was raining and cold, but it was ok. Our trail guide didn't know his way around that well! Ha Ha! Ummm, Anyway... The Rock Garden was bitchin'! I'm totally interested in doing the "stocker" run as long as we don't drive around on the dirt roads and pretend that we're wheelin'. Nov 5th I'm in! I need to get my doors put on big time.
About the other local Steubenville, OH trails I mentioned above... we have NOT got together yet. Preferbly 31s MTs at least, New ATs if it's dry out.
Good fun - You will get scratches in the paint from branches - a little mud maybe 16" deep max, not too many large ruts, creek crossings, off cambers a few ledges here and there and some 14-16" tall rocks. I'll guide. Approx. 20 minutes south of Wellsville off Rt. 22.

And dont worry about being on dirt roads, while some of the trails will be somewhat easy for a modified rig, there will defenetly be alot of optional trails that will test any Jeep out there!! Like I told them on 4wd.com, if your worry about it being too easy, just follow me on some of the optional trails and obsticals!!

Sounds good!! I will be leading the Stockers, so i can't split off, but I can point you up(or down) some very intersting obsticals!! Have you been out to Wellsville much?
So far no one on any of the other boards have said for sure they were there, so your first on the list!
It'll be nice to have a few XJs out there showing the TJs how its done!! :lecture:
