Valve Noise

I have valve noise at idle, I've tried that stuff from advance that quiets it, but it dosen't work. I just changed the oil. My jeep is a 93' with 175,000miles on it. Any solutions?

I'd say try another bottle of the stuff for lifters. Rislone worked on my wife's Explorer's engine. The lifters may be gummed up.

When does this noise occur? Only when cold and on start up or all the time?

Does it get louder at higher RPMs?

Are you sure it's valve/lifter noise and not a rod bearing?

sorry, I don't have any solutions :gag: almost everyone has the same problems.
The 4.0L is a noisy lil faulker. :greensmok

Yeah, i tried this stuff called valve Dr.(I think) and it didn't do anything, but it does it cold starts, and after is warm. Basically It does it all the time while its idling. It's not very loud, but I notice it because I drive it everyday. I've only had the jeep for about a year and a half so I don't know if it has always sounded like that.
