Got a nice E815 phone, bluetooth, well, Verizon can bite me, untill I got into the hofo site I had no idea they crippled their phones so badly just to force you to use their paid serivces. Picture buying a laptop and being forced to only use Verizon dialup to be able to retreive and read email and only be able to print it by sending it BACK thru the verizon network a home email account, not be able to hook it to your own network or basically do anything with it without using their paid crap, a bill gates dream.
Some seem editing took care of that little problem and now the full OBE works, got a 512meg transflash card too, curious how much video it will hold...

I got the seem editor and followed the docs but could never get my i815 to actually load the code...

any chance you can email me the tools you used to do it?

I agree that it's not fair that they cripple the phone so much.

Did you follow the procedure on hofo ? Whose USB cable did you use ?

I've got a real Motorola cable and I tried a cheap clone cable from a friend with no luck. I believe I did use the HOFO instructions. I tried using the whole process about a month or so ago and don't remember the specifics of where I got the info. I can't remember the offset that it told me to use, but when I put it in and click the get info (or download the current config or whatever) it would sit there and basically timeout. The big window on the left would never fill with information. The USB drivers would pop up when I typed the special code into the phone though.

Heck, I thought Verizon sucked for a number of other reasons...Nokia phone incompatibility with their new network...Verizon broadband hogging the same towers we try to make/receive calls from...crappy liars in their customer service...fiancee i on her third phone from them because their crippled software is buggy and apparently helped kill the phones...

Glad I'm not the only one, Dad has Verizon, insists they have a great setup, but when ever you talk to him on his phone from my Sister's or my Sprint our our ATT land line he breaks up, goes straight to voice mail, switches to roaming killing his battery. Can't say I'm happy with Sprint right now, but I don't have the problems I see with Dad's.
