Rear Crank Seal

Guess I screwed up, I recently replaced the rear crank seal (on my 88) and now it`s leaking again. I've done the job a half dozen times (on various XJ's and YJ's) and had it start leaking again twice. The first time, I wrote it off to probable loose main bearings, causing the crank to wobble and wear the seals. This crank has minimal wear and is tight.
This time, I'm pretty sure, I made some kind of screw up. Though both failures were with Fel Pro seals. The ones that lasted, had another manufacturers seals or OEM.
Anybody want to give me some advice, for next time. Maybe some installation tips and some things to watch out for. I´d sure hate to have to do it a third time. I´m gonna use OEM seals this time around.
