Very cool! I'd like it more in an inline configuration though.
It will never happen though. Or should I say, it won't happen any time soon.
Unfortunately, hybrid technology has clouded the visions of those who make the decisions at auto manufacturers. It appears, only the Germans "get it."

yeah, but the "germans" are in bed with chrysler... they just set aside a bunch of land for a biodiesel plant venture.. could be a look at "things to come"..

The German wing of DCX has almost as much control over what cars will hit American soil as I do.
It will be a long time before any real progress is made toward diesel technology because of all the hybrid hype and all the money that has already gone into it.

I didn't see anything there about it being a hybrid, but maybe I missed it. Just low emission.
As for the twin-turbo diesel, the guys on my ford site promise the 07 PowerStroke will likely be a 6.4 liter twin turbo. More evolutionary than revolutionary, but still a step in that direction...

I know for a fact they are redesigning the transmission for an additional 50 lb-ft+ of torque in the super duties.
