I have some 1/4" plate and was thinking about fabbing a diff slider
pros or cons ?
Ive havent seen many but thought it might be a good idea that way if I get hung up on the rear diff I can just drag it over without worrying about damage to the diff.
Im runnin a D44 if it makes a diffrence

I wouldn't be too worried about the diff. I've dragged mine across the Rubicon on a 4" lift and 31" tires.

The advantage I see is protecting the u-joints on the driveshaft. There have been times where the weight of my truck is on them as I drag over rocks. I like the design from Nth degree.

A d-44 can take years and years of sliding with no detrimental effects. It maight start getting thin after about 10 years of hard wheeling.

If anything, weld the plate directly to the case, in front of the lip.
