Hi,
Got a '97 XJ with a 4.0L that has a Jacobs ignition system installed. About 80K and recently turned up with new plugs, rotor, and dist cap. The below problem occured before the tuneup, just stating some facts.
After starting and driving for about 1 minute, I get a 5 to 10 second stuttering episode that basically sees the Jeep lose power/acceleration and stutter. Then it recovers and drives normal until it is restarted.
These episodes would only happen the first time the Jeep was started in the morning, but now it seems like several times a day.
I was thinking a clogged fuel filter, but wanted to poll the masses for other ideas.
Thanks
jc
