I hear the majority of the axles are Dana 30 front and 35 rear though some have been Chrysler 8.8's how do I tell the difference?

Most likely you have the D35, but the 8.25" has 3" tubes and the D35 2.5" I think, but definitely smaller. Definitely a D30 in the front, disconnect or Non, depends on your Tcase.
Ford Explorer axles are the 8.8, also a very good upgrade.

Yeah, the '90 model should have a D35. The D35 is oval shaped on the bottom, and the 8.25 has a flat section on the bottom.

Also the Dana 35 has Eight ring gear bolts...the Chrysler has 10 ring gear bolts.
