recovery bottle??

Ok ,I just finished rebuilding my closed coolant system, New bottle, hoses,and completely cleaned out my radiator. My manual says to fill the bottle but doesn't say how full? Little help here!!

By "closed," you mean the early, non-HO cooling system with a bottle on the passenger side firewall, right?

That is NOT a "recovery" bottle. That bottle is part of the pressurized cooling system. The non-HOs don't have a recovery bottle.

Fill to halfway when cold. There's a plastic post inside the bottle directly beneath the cap -- fill to the top of the post.
