I have seen some of the diesel XJ's over here, but have not been to any wrecking yards yet. It sure would be nice to bring one of those motor's back with me. Also I am hoping to find some of the rear seats with the headrests. I will let you all know how the hunt goes for the rear seats.

seats with headrests.... you just got my attention!!!!! Are you in military by any chance? or just traveling there?

IN regards to the bringing the diesel back... I don't think it'd be really worth it.... replacement parts would be a BEAR...

Actually work Civil Service for the Air Force over here.(Military without the uniform). I will be here for awhile. I have just started my hunt for the rear seats and have been tipped off to a couple of junkyards. I guess I need to get out and measure my rear seat to see what the shipping options will be if I can find a couple.

hmmm if you do... let me know (obiezyswiat@socal.rr.com) as I might be REALLY interested myself.... it all depends on the cost though as there is a place here that makes aftermarket ones with headrests...

I've been thinking about it all day long. I figure It'll take me 6 city miles to get used to it and then it's time to wheel with it.

Since these were made for import, can they be registered in US?

OK, the price is $12,500. I have asked for vins so that I can go to a dealer and get a build sheet :). Kind of curious what front and rear ends it has...
