91 up charging system upgrade???

these might be stupid questions guys, but which wires exactly on the alternator need to be upgraded w/ a bigger one? the ground? i have traced the pos. alt. wire to the fusebox. do i just run another one straight from the alt. to the battery? do i need a fuse link or something? electrical is not exactly my forte; i just don't want the batt. to drain, catch on fire, etc. thanks. :explosion

c'mon i know that people have done this before, and i couldn't find this stuff in the search.

pleeaassssee somebody help. this stuff is really buggin' me. the fuse is 60A WTF? the stock alternators pull more than that-!?!?
