Back a bit ago I had this issue with my steering setup that a friend have given me:
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62293
Rusty heard about this and asked for me to send it to him since he felt that it was one of his older systems. He didn't ask for any proof, didn't really care if it was really his system or not, he just said send it. So I it to him and no more than a week later he sent back the system completely redone with his new design which works perfect. He didn't charge me one cent and that means a ton to me. I know people say different things about him throughout the years, but he has always had great service, great parts (for a majority of us who wheel), and always willing to help.
So I'm doing this on my own just to say thanks and give my two cents.
Thanks Rusty,
Chris

Nice.
When an outfit spends as much time getting slammed as Rusty's (I've not used any of his gear myself, so I've no reason to say anything either way...) I have to admit it's nice to see someone have something nice to say.
It's also good to see that customer service still exists in some places.

I don't know if yall remember, but I just got a tracbar from him replaced. I didn't even bend the tracbar, but I actually snapped the threaded end. Since he heard about it through this forum, he sent me a completely new tracbar, which was thicker, and designed for a taller lift, free of charge. His customer service has gotten better through time, especially since he's gotten slammed so much. I hope people start to see that his parts aren't total crap, and that he's starting to backup the products he makes with no questions asked.

i believe its all due to some new regional reps that they have all over the country.

Alot of people may not know, but from what I have been told, if it were not for a significant amount of support by Rusty's in the early days of NAXJA, we might not have a club.
Rusty's doesn't necessarily make the most expensive or the heaviest duty equipment out there, but from what I have seen, you get a good value for your money. I started with several items from Rusty's and they served me well for the amount I paid.

I have used several Rusty's products over the years and I currently have a Rusty's 3 in. full-spring lift (and several other Rusty's parts also) on my 89 XJ.
I have never had a Rusty's part fail. I always reccommend them when asked and will cotinue to do so as long as I have the results that I have had over the many years I have used Rusty's parts.

I totally agree with everyone, Rusty makes fine parts. I've yet to deal with their customer service, but after reading this thread i'll be less hesitant when the time comes. Rusty makes the best parts for the price, nothing compares.

I'm running the Rusty's 4.5 lift I'm no "extreme" wheeler by any means but when I do go out and play I play hard. no complaints at all.. Kudos to Rusty's for making a quality lift for a great price

Coming from another vendor, this is a really great thread to see. You always hear about the bad from Rusty's or any other vendor but you don't see many random "out of the blue" appreciation threads that actually tell why you're giving public thanks. The "Rusty's has good parts" threads don't really do much for people's opinions.
Sometimes things fall through the cracks... its inevitable but speaking for myself and for a couple other vendors that I associate with, word of mouth appreciation is the best form of advertising. Hearing about a vendor stepping up without being asked and updating/replacing parts that they know are inferior or have faults is awesome. Afterall, the parts are a representation of their work.
What's the saying?... "Do something right and the customer will tell 5 people, do something wrong and they'll tell 50 people" or something like that? This holds so true!
I've never purchased any of Rusty's parts but I am in the market for a gas tank skid. After reading this thread, I hopped over to his site and priced a skid for my rig. I'm going to research it more but if his skid comes down to one of my final choices, I'll probably go with his stuff due to word of mouth praise rather than what I see on another manufacturer's website discribing their own product.
Chris (Double Down), thanks a lot for posting this thread!!! :)

I hope it's true that he has improved his junk and his customer service because it really used to be the worst in the industry.
Maybe he finally pulled his head out and realized he had to do something or he was going to go broke.

Its always nice to see positive comments and not bashing, even though i'm guilty of it sometimes..

as it has been said before, its nice to see this thread, i tooo am a happy rustys customer, i purchased their 3 inch full pack kit while i lived down in georgia, after i moved up here i decided to go to 4.5 inch with a budget boost, and some new lower adjustable control arms, and extemded brake lines, all in all another 400 dollor bill, after two weeks and no product i contacted rusty and we figured out that somehow (probably because i registered on their site while i was in geogia), my package had been sent to my georgia address so rustys just put together another package and sent it to my current address free of another shipping charge......Excellent Customer service, major props.......i am currently looking to get those coil spacers out from under my heep...i will probably end up with some rustys 4.5 inchers, when the money is available.......

I've bought stuff from Rusty when I first got started out...
I'd fab my own now tho...
But I'd still find an excuse to call...
Being from the North, it's a hoot to call and have him answer the phone:
[DRAWL ON] Rusty's... [DRAWL OFF]

I've ordered a bundle of stuff both made by Rusty's and other things through them. I've had a couple of small hitches with missent parts etc. To date I have not had a quality issue or customer service issue. I posted this a while back and got mixed responses
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57991
I myself am still comfortable dealing with Rusty's and like the products.

I ordered a tow hook kit with brackets and hooks, and when I got it, all that was there were the brackets. I know the hooks are basically just the $20 things from Wal-Mart, but I didn't want to spend the extra $20, so I called him up and they sent them out righ away, no questions asked. My BB came from RRO, and unless I buy another Tracker, they won't be getting any more of my business. I got the BPEs from them with the BB and they don't fit. At all. So I called them (after me, Karstic, and Johnnie were out messin with this and runnin around town to get a new bar pin after we cut the original off. Johnnie ended up just buying a cheapo shock to use its pin..:D btw, thanks guys, maybe someday I'll be able to repay the favor :)) and was told I could send the BPEs back and have the difference between kits refunded minus the S&H, plus like 20% or something...all this for a $30 refund on a part that they say is great and will fit, but didn't even come close. I do plan on buying from Rusty's in the future though. Especially now that I've heard from people with 3" full leafs... :D

Better not let Rusty hear you give props to C-rok.
Besides, why would you do that?
Remember?
You purchased EVERYTHING from Rusty's.

I build on a strict budget, and Rusty's has been the vendor of choice because of that. Many of my parts are Used Rusty's stuff. I cant beat the value and any problems I have had are quickly fixed with replacement parts and service from them. I will continue to buy.

another post of support. i've had nothing but good parts and GREAT customer service from rusty.
well, except my flowmaster cat-back exhaust system ('99 XJ) which is supposed to be direct fit was about 12" too short, requiring welding on additional pipe, and the steering box brace needed to be re-drilled. pretty darn minor issues though...

I've said it before in other threads...
This is my first Jeep. I'm soft care to say the least. I personally spoke to Rusty several times while researching stuff and he answered more than one dumb question. His parts have held up great to the trails (read gravel roads) that I have braved. I will use his BB for my wifes when we're ready. Good to see this thread.
