Strap Vs U bolt

Read this article on Drive shaft and Yoke tech in the Nov issue of Circle Track ---
" The U-bolt type of attachment for U-joints is considered inferior to the strap design for several reasons.The strap is stronger and less apt to crush the bearing cap,it uses stronger bolts that cannot overtighten the bearing caps and holde the cap at four points as opposed to the u-bolt attaching at 3 points."

I don't buy it, at least not in the rock-crawling world.

I've seen problems on the trail several times with straps, never with u-bolts, and this seems to be the observation of many other people as well.
