I am planning on lifting my XJ here very shortly. I plan on running 33X12.5X15 on it. I have chose to go with Rubicon Express, but now I am not sure what to do. Should I go with the 4.5 kit (6130) or upgrade to the 5.5 kit (6200). Maybe the Long arm kit (6300). What do you guys suggest? I drive to work once a week and that is around 50 miles one way. So there is not that big of a drive. I will drive it daily, but take it up to the trails when I can. And Hollister is close by. I will re-gear and be making my own bumper, rock rails, and skids. If you have any input please help.

I vote you call dirk at www.DPGoffroad.com and get his hybrid RE 6030 3.5 lift and run them 33's!!
I am currently running this lift with 32's and am going to get 33's.
I already feel "tippy" in the right off camber stuff, I can't imagine at 5.5 of lift.
Look at the rockcrawlers in UROC, they are sitting VERY close to the ground with big tires.
Dirk even has one cust. running the 3.5 lift with 35's!!
Later,
Jason

get the 4.5" kit, substitute the front XJ coils for ZJ coils, have them include the 4.5" leaf pack + shackles instead of teh 3.5" leaf packs (the leaf packs should be no brainer as they are same price and the 4.5" kit is actually a 3.5" pack + shackles) and off you go.

Go long arm all the way!! My 3 link is not rubicon, its Rock Krawler and i absolutly LOVE it. i think Rubicons set up is pretty much the same. The flex you get out of a long arm system is sick. Check out Rock Krawlers stuff the 2nd/3rd gen stuff is nothing like the old crap. But greatest of all the 4.5LA is a smoother ride now then when it was stock. LA's ride great on the road. I believe in "do it once do it right" and with long arm if you want to go higher its very easy and somewhat cheap. Just my two cents.

I am going to have to say this is purely preference. I have been buying parts for my new rig since march. This buildup was on no budget at all, and long arms were not on the list. And next week when the lift goes on, I don't expect to many people saying I should have gone with LAs. The SA vs. LA issue has been torn apart on here. Search, read all you can, and draw your own conlusions............... :lecture:
