I was looking around and found a penny and its a 1944 wheat penny, and was wondering if anyone knew if it was worth anything? since it was the year of WW2. if anyone has any knowledge, please let me know

is it an "s" penny? i've been told that they were minted in san fransisco and could possibly be made out of spent shell casings from wwII

That is the most common early penny you will find. It's worth is not that high due to its high availability. It is worth about a dime in average condition.

Yeah, it's worth like 10 cents but as my dad says, it's only worth as much as a person is willing to pay for it.

I've got two 1944's, no mint marking
also have;
1910 - (its a good bit more worn but still quite legible)
1927 D
1941 -
two 1945, one D one S
1952 D

I gotta handful of the steel pennies they used in WW2 when the copper was all used up by the war effort. Anyone know what they are worth?

1943? 0.30-0.75 depending on grade? I am guessing on what google told me... :laugh3:

When I'm deep in the mountain towns of VA, I occasionally get "Silver Certificate" $1.00 bills as change. Anyone know what those are worth?

not sure. but i've got a few $5 silver certificates. ...and go figure, i'm in the mtns :D
