Adjusting Low Reverse Band on Torqueflite 904 transmission

Do anyone know how to torque the low reverse band to 72 inch-lbs on the torqueflite 904 transmission when the adjusting screw is over the piston not the band? When adjusting the screw it keeps going in until the lock nut cannot be put on.

The band is first run down to 72 in-lbs then backed off 2 1/2 turns, the lickdown band is the same, 72 in-lb then backoff 1 1/2 turns.

When it adjusts down that far, then the band is pretty muh chewed off or you have the wrong lever arm.
