u Bolt conversion

I broke the straps on the rear driveshaft bouncing the xj up a double humped ledge just the wroung length for it, bloody tjs got up no probs. Has anyone heard of a u bolt up grade to replace the pissy four bolts with stronger u-bolts?

I'm convinced that the u-bolts for a Ford pinion yoke will work, but I haven't drilled out my yoke yet to test the theory. Looks to me like the back side has sufficient flat area for the nuts, but other people say the opposite.

There was a thread on this topic a few weeks ago. Try a search and see what turns up -- I don't recall if there was a definitive conclusion.

i tried to search under u bolt conversion but had no success any ideas on what to call it for search purposes

There is a new strap out that is machined so that the cap is completely surrounded. I saw it in the back of the new Jp, but my issue is at home so I cant find out who makes them...
