RE DP's and skid plate compatibility...

About to install the drop brackets and then realized I should get a tc skid.

'98 w/242, might there be issues with mounting both together with regard to the crossmember?

It might depend on the skid, but I don't think there should be any problems. You may need to drop the t-case skid 1/4" or so on the framerail to match up with the drop provided by the DBs (they go between the framerail and the crossmember).


The DB Brace ends just after the crossmember, but you may need to modify yours to not interfere with the skid.

Must have bookmarked your link I don't know how many times, great concise write-up on the db's, thanks.

Last night began comparing skid plates, have only the oem gas tank right now.

Some modification/fabrication doesn't bother me, always looking for a worthy reason to invest in a torch, small welder, diamond blade, etc...

Really need the downtime to do the job unrushed.
