8.8 vs D44

I came across a screamin deal on a 8.8 for $80
problem is I alreay have a D44 on my rig ..
Do yalll think its worth it (disks) to buy and put that in for the D44
got 4.10's not sure about the trac lok


what ya think??

You can always just buy it and keep it as a spare or sell it again if you decide you don't need it.

I'd get it. I picked up my complete 8.8 for 80 bucks too. Gotta love u-pull yards.

the factory 8.8 tracklocks always leave something to be desired...

i would almost prefer an open diff- that way you can put an aussielocker in there...

though im sure you will make a friend someday who would want one of the axles for say 300.00 or so, and then there is some coin in your pocket...

personaly - id pass if the d44 does everything you want it too

Drums VS discs = eh? when driving a 95 YJ with a d30 front and an 8.8 disced rear, i noticed no difference with my d30 front and at that time d35 rear...

I'd say it's worth every penney just to get rid of those adjuster screws. :laugh3:

I got rid of my 8.25 just to get the discs from the 8.8. Big difference in braking as I am reminded everytime I drive my daughters' XJs. Whooooaaaa Nelly!
