Shocks?

Ok I know this sounds funny but what are a good brand of shocks? My wife's XJ is basically a grocery getter. She has popped the occasional curb and has gone through some mud holes (really just a potholes filled with muddy water). Anyways you get the idea. What I am looking for are shocks that will make her XJ ride smooth on her daily drive and the occasional "mud hole".
