Website for Jeep vin decoder

I know I have it floating around here some where, but I can't remember where. I just wonder if it will work on my 87. I've heard a few stories about the decoder saying some of the pre-Chrysler XJs coming with Cummins Turbo Dieslels. I'd just like to try it out.

That one worked but I was looking for the one that tells me the options that mine came with, sort of like the build slip.

a vin decoder won't tell you the specifics on your vehicle. just some general stuff about it. to get the details, there's an email link on jeep's web page or you can go to a dealership and request a "build sheet".

Just some further info for when you go to the dealer... at the local dealer, when I asked for a "build sheet" they looked at me like I was from another planet. They referred to it as a "VIP" sheet IIRC.

I got my build sheet from the local dealership. He did look at me funny at first though. "I want a piece of paper that will tell me exactly what my jeep had when it left the jeep factory." That line worked for me! His expression was like a light bulb came on. Worked for me!
