Try either http://www.premiere-electronics.net or http://www.walcottcb.com . Try calling them just in case they don't have what you want on the website.

Radio Shack has them. If they don't have them, they can order them.

An unsecured 102" whip will fail you during a inspection on a MWC (not a NAXJA) run, I used to run 1 and stopped when I saw just how far it whips on the trail. If you are gonna be on the trail, for your spotters safety, tie it up.....tight.

Just don't use it to transmit when you're tied up. I tried it with a bungie from eye to eye on the rack, once around the antenna. Jumped to over 3.0 on the SWR meter I had hooked up. May have been that it was wet, not sure because I haven't duped the test dry yet. Just what I found. . .

Thanks, called Radio Shack and they said they can't even get them anymore at my local one but they've got them online...I'd only be using this for the highway, for the trail I have a telescoping radio antenna that's also a CB antenna and if that fails I've got the good old magnet mount.

One last question.
Here's a pic of Radio Shack's 102" Whip:

It doesn't say anywhere but is it the same thickness the whole length of the antenna or does it get skinnier at one point? All the ones I've seen are the same width the whole way up.
I know they 'shrunk' it to fit it into a picture.

Radio Shit...I mean Shack, dosn't sell a true 102" whip, It is shorter and has a coil at the bottom to make up the diff.
I run a shorter R.S. whip on my P.O.S. and Rev hasn't failed me yet! :laugh3:

Yes, RS did carry a true 102, it has since been replaced by the unit Sean is speaking of. The 102 can still be found at a few stores, it is tapered along the length. No...you cannot transmit with it tied down.
Good choice for highway only, just keep it off the trail.
