TJ sway bar links longer?

My friend and I just lifted his jeep and we are looking for a solution for the sway bar links. For not, he doesn't care much about disconnecting them, so I was wondering about TJ links. They look very similar to xj links (with the bend in them and all), just longer. Anybody ever try this? Thanks

What year is his XJ? The newer XJ links are longer than the old ones (96 vs 88). I don't really like the way the TJ links go together. That stupid ball/cup joint just never seemed to stay together on my brother's TJ, so we swapped in a set of JKS discos.
