oil in disributor cap

Alright, I have a 91' Cherokee wih the 4.0 and AW4, 4 in of lift 33's ect.

Changed over to a new distribor cap and rotor,and the old one was six kinds of nasty, due to oil and mud. Should I just try to seal the new one with some silicon and be done wth it or is this a sign of some massive problem withoil being sprayed up the distributor somehow?

Do a search. This has been covered hundreds of times and not more than three days ago. Oil in the distributor cap is caused by engine blowby.
