I have searched this site, and others. I keep comming up with conflicting information. Some say 37 tooth, some say 39 tooth ect. I have found multiple charts, some don't even go that low with gearing, and the ones that do, have conflicting info.
I know there has to be others with this gear/tire combo.
I have an automatic, 231, '96 4.0.
Any help appriciated!

I just got 4:88's and 35's, and my speedometer is just about correct now? I don't know why? But it is alot closer with the new gears.

Do you just have a factory gear in there? The one I have in now is for 3.55's and 32's. I think it's a 31 tooth, regardless, mine is waaaay off.

I have the 37 tooth gear and my speedo still reads fast. 5 to 10 mph depending on how fast I'm going. The faster I go the more it's off. I thing I need the 39 tooth to slow sown the speedo a little. It's a real easy install, just haven't got around to soing it. I sometimes use my GPS as a speedo if I'm on a long drive. I would go with the 39 tooth.

Thanks Dan. Raingler's site recomends a 39 tooth for this setup as well.
Thanks.
