anyone ever though about making an axle guard plate like this?

this is Just a quick thought I made in paint but has anyone ever made an axle gaurd plate like this that would sit flush to the D30 axle and bolt up with u-bolts, I wasnt sure how many other people have abused this area from geting bit by rocks, I'm not to sure If Its an area that really needs a gaurd but Its kinda a cool thought and would pry be cheap....any thoughts?

i bash my lca mounts before i bash that part of the axle

dont have the tools to bend the steel around the axle or I would....

what's the point?

if you're denting or breaking D30 tubes (Remi?) you had better just give up on the 30 altogether.

make it at least have a purpose if you do decide to make this guard thingy
find some THICK wall round tubing w/ the same inside dia. as the outer tubing of the axle (2.5"?) and add to the UN-sprung weight of the featherlight d30
add at least 100 more lbs to it w/ some 1/2" or 5/8" wall...

oh geeee and here you go bringing me into again I think that my axle went kaput due to the rollovera year ago: the side that broke was the "landing" side.
