2 odd steering questions...

2 questions you could answer for a somewhat "newbie" I did searching and couldnt find a lick....

1. I saw someone selling a stock trac bar that was heated and bent to accomodate to 5" of lift on a cherokee, is this possible, and is It safe?

2. Is It possible to take a stock trac bar or specifically a tie rod and slide a thick pipe over It and weld each end to, almost to make a doubled up tie rod? would that be crap or is that a cheap way to beef up the stock tie rod or trac bar? thanks Josh

I've seen worse.
I know a few who have used the handle from their hilft to sleeve it for a trail repair and never took it back off.
Anything you can do to the stocker to make it beefier, do it.

The track bar I would definitely not do.
I'd hate to think of the heat affected area from the bending episode.
Might make it weaker, but I'm no scientist.

even If you possibly re-enforced the heated & bent trac-bar with the sleeving method and welding?
For the effort you put into reenforcing that thing you could make one.
That's what I'd do.
