Differences in drivetrain length?

Were there any differences in the MP231 and AX15 length? Im my 1990 Comanche the previous owner tried ot swap in a auto. I put a standard back into it and the driveshaft is about an inch too short. Were there any differeces in lengths of the AX15 and NP231? It is the original shaft. My local shops are quoting $175 to lengthen the shaft, and id like to pass on that.

Is it the shaft used with the auto? The auto is longer than the ax-15.

I was told it was the original shaft, and the truck did have a AX-15.

Anybody have measurements?

any axle changes? there are two different DS lengths bc of the D35 and D44 differences. And no I dont have any measurements... sorry
