Modified Crossmember to have a T-Case drop

First off, yes I searched.

I am wondering if I can notch my crossmember with a plasma cutter to add a built-in T-Case drop without losing ground clearance, much like Rusty's crossmember is designed.

Right now I've got a stack of washers in to work with until I can either make or buy something like this.

Anyone done this or have any input?

You'll would need to beef it up good, the box is what gives it strenght, making it thinner would weaken it. I just cut a crossmember out of a thick piece of plate steel after trashing the stocker, it's low profile and very strong.
