Hello,
My A/C has began to act funny. On a hot day, specially at low speeds or after a lot of idling, it will go very quickly from working fine to blowing warmish air. The electric fan does work.

What puzzles me is that I can idle at a stop for 20 minutes on a hot day, with no problems, and shortly after I start moving, the A/C will all of the sudden start blowing warmer air. I would expect the problems to happen when there is no airflow other than the fan's. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mikel

Mike, it's probably just low on refrigerant. There should be a sight glass directly behind and below the compressor. With the engine idleing, have a helper turn the A/C on max (from off), and watch the sight glass. You should see a rush of bubbles, and then the glass should clear. If bubbles continue to appear, then the refrigerant is low, and should be re-charged.

Hello,
This is what I see: When the A/C compressor cycles, I see fluid through the glass. When the compressor stops, the level drops and I see bubbles. This happens at every cycle.
Thanks,
Mikel

If it's throwing hot are why is the compressor cycling.

The only time you might see bubbles is when the compressor starts, it sounds low you should not see bubbles.

I just had mine drained and re-filled. had been blowing warmer air.. not really enough to cool down.. also I could hear the a/c compressor cylcing on/off quite a bit..

work great after a new boost..
