Newbie is trying to add liftgate speakers, just 5.25" Alpines, to an 89 XJ. The wiring seems to be there...this Xj apparently came w.o. rear speaker option. Somewhere between the harness for the stock Cassette deck and the feeds/returns I found next to the speaker mounts, is a break.
None of the FSM pdfs I have (from EBAY) or the Haynes book show any of the speaker wiring that I can see. I don't want to run new wires if I can help it.
Seems like there would be a plug loose or something. I wouldn't think speaker wires would go thru a fuse box or would they?
As if "accessories" is some kind of girly chapter they cannot include in the manuals! The shop manual on my '86 Trooper kicked ass!! compared to these. Maybe I don't have the right FSM.
