Ok, after reading another thread on mysterious noise's, I've discovered I have a buggered engine mount.

As view'd from the front of the car (RHS), the mount under the intake/manifold...

I've got the "haynes" manual... It does not seem to go into great detail about engine mount replacement ?

I'm off down to the parts store to pick one up... So if any of you have previous experience with 94 XJ's replacements and have some handy hint's, please reply...

Pretty straight forward. I used a huge piece of wood and jacked up the motor form the oil pan, the wood distributes the weight so u dont crush the oil pan. Then just unbolt the old one, slide the new one into place and tighten all the bolts down. Long socket extensions and some combination wrenches will come in handy, some of the bolts can be a little hard getting to. goodluck.

I think you need to replace the other side at the same time. just replacing one will cause the other to fail prematurely IIRC.
