Last night I was putting in axle shafts and front locker in my dana 30. It was getting late and I was just about done. I had put both sides back together and was trying to get the rotors on. Wouldn't you know it, I put the dust shields on backwards! So I had to take the axle nuts and the hubs off again and do it all over. The lesson learned: Jeep doesn't poka-yoke (10 points if you know what that is)

And on Tuesday I spent the night chasing a short that ocurred in my stereo on Monday. I finally had to re-route a power wire to the fuse box because the radio power lead in the fuse box was grounded. Well today while driving to work I was trying out my new CB and couldn't get it to plug into my cig lighter. when I got to a stop light I looked in and guess what I found.... a penny. :banghead: So thanks to my 18 month old son who loves to play inside of daddy's jeep I spent two hours tearing apart my dash chasing a short. The moral of the story: when you hear hoof beats don't think zebra.

Oh well at least now I am ready for the 'Con this weekend

I did the same thing on mine when I did my axle shafts. Except I didn't put it on at all. Realized it though before I had the hub fully bolted on.

Dude, every time I pull my hubs I put those damn things on backward! I'm about ready to paint "This Side Out!" on the outside!

If you forget to put 'em back on and then loose them. You'll never have that problem again.;)

I believe that may have been the first part of my heep that I threw in the trash. Rear swaybar was probably a close second.

I accadently bent mine as i walked over it at 2am while swapping u-joints. i didnt realize it till the ride home ( about 50 miles) i heard it rubbing so i am like no big deal. next day i drive back out to my buddies house ( another 50 miles) and the dust shield had rubbed 3 pretty nice groves almost all the way through my rotor. oh well it was an excuse to do a brake job and spend money on my heep...er...jeep.

18 month old eh.... from experience keep an eye on the VCR, CD and the DVD player, matter of fact, get them up out of range of the rugrat even if standing on a chair, they can be pretty resourcesfull when they want to be. PB&J sandwhiches don't play worth a darn in a VCR and neither do ritz crackers with cheeze wiz in a cd carosel cd player....
