Hi folks. I need some help. Right after we moved here (coarsegold, 24 miles north of fresno), our 89 4 liter cherokee auto stopped running. I have a no spark condition. Working with Mike Rollins we’ve narrowed the problem to either the ignition control module (icm), the unit located under the coil, or the electronic control unit (ecu) located under the dash.

What I need is someone with a similar vehicle who can come over a let me put their icm into my vehicle then try to start it, or let me bring my icm and ecu to their location, put my unit into their vehicle to test my component.

Alternatively, if anyone has a MS 1700 diagnostic unit I could borrow, that should tell me which component is bad.

Anyone willing to help us with this would be our new wheeling God, allowing us to get back on the trail and meet new friends.

Please help!!

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Folks:
Thanks to Mike R, Chuck D, and Neil in Fresno, We've isolated the problem to the ICU. Now I need a replacement.

Anyone know of one laying about?
Michael
