d35 trac-lok spider gear removal

I'm helping a friend put new gears in his d35 (now no need for criticism please) and need to remove the spider gears from the trac-lok carrier to the new open carrier. Haven't figured out yet how to get them out yet so could use a few pointers there. Does anyone have the specs for the shim thickness that go behind the side spider gears? He didn't know he had a trac-lok so it caught us by surprise. Any help is much appreciated.
