I am having a turn signal issue and I cannot find a wiring diagram for it on the net. I would love to purchase the manual, but do not have the 100 dollars for it at the moment.

My hazards work on all bulbs and on the dash. The turn signals do not work on either side nor the dash. I checked all fuses, and the all work. There are empty slots on the fuse box but I do not know what they are for. The Chilton's manual covers too many years and doesn't seem to jive with the fuse layout I have.

I dismantled the turn switch signal and nothing seems to be broken. I do not have a wiring diagram to check resistance nor voltage on teh appropriate wires. I was guessing and it doesn't reveal much.

I also noticed there is a one metallic cylinder relay hanging beside the relay box beneath the steering column. It is REALLY hot, and I think that might be for the turn signals. I think there is a short, but again I don;t have the scematics to backprobe.

I would appreciate diagrams for anything having to do with the blinkers.
Thanks

When you hit the turn lever, does the dash light arrow come on and stay on rather than flash, or does it not come on at all? Same question for the turn signal lights at the front & rear of the Jeep. Do they come on and stay on, or do they not come on at all?

Neither the dash nor turn signal lights outside the vehicle turn on. I removed and opened the lever itself and nothing is damaged or missing. I have a voltmeter but do not know what wires are for what.

The hazards do work both on the dash and outside the car.
All the other functions on the turn signal switch also work.

Thanks.. I really appreciate it.
Now I wonder if the 88 manual is too old for my year and the 2000 to updated. My Jeep is a 96.

Anyone have info on the 96? Particulary what fuse 8 on the fuse box under driver's side is for? Plus, did this year have the combo hazard/turn signal combo relay? Is there a seperate relay for the signals?

I fixed it. Turned out to be the switch.
